Hello! I am Captain Chris Caka (pronounced “cha-ka”) owner-operator of Airboat Training Center of Florida.
As far back as I can remember, I have been an avid boater and outdoorsman. I grew up in southeast Texas with awe-inspiring forests, rivers and lakes in my back yard. Outdoor sports became my passion. I worked as a diver at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) training astronauts how to do space walks (weightless environment training) in the worlds largest indoor pool. After I left NASA, I started my own company.
I hold a 50 Ton USCG Master Captains License, a DOI/FWC Florida Airboat Operator Instructor Certification and a FAA Private Pilot’s License. I am also a NAUI SCUBA Dive Instructor, CPR/First Aid Instructor and a Lifeguard Instructor.
The reason I started Airboat Training Center of Florida is two fold; and both revolve around safety. First, I wanted to provide a resource where people interested in airboats or new to airboating could learn how to operate an airboat safely. Secondly, I wanted to provide a resource in central Florida where professional airboat captains could receive the required training mandated by Florida state law and FWC.
Feel free to Contact Us at any time to discuss you airboat training needs. I truly look forward to meeting you and helping you gain the knowledge and skills necessary to operate an airboat safely!
